A note of information for non-Swedish readers:

Dear parent and grandparent:
The list below includes some of the towns we plan to visit during our tour through Sweden this summer. If you come to visit us you will receive the free literature that is listed under the sidebar menu link "Contact and Free Literature". So, if you have any questions on what we present on this website welcome to one of the towns listed below. Look for a big red van with a big sticker "www.AMOSO.org"
Please note: We can’t hand out the free literature on the places were we stop for a meal or gassing up. Instead we will drive to a place nearby were we will meet with you and pass out material and answer any question. You may of course request the free literature while on this website and we will mail it to you. But some people may not want to give out their addresses but prefer to receive it anonymously. Welcome!
We will also advertise in the local newspaper. But so far 2 (of a total 14) local papers have declined our ad (Bohuslänningen and Närkes Allehanda). I’ve been unable to reach Bohuslänningen for an explanation. On the other hand, the Chief Editor for Närkes Allehanda (Ulf Andersson), found our material to be "incitement of violence against a group of people". When I asked their spokesperson to explain why he stated that my comparison of the two lifestyles was biased and did not have much good to say about one of the lifestyles. He must have referred to the homosexual lifestyle.
My comment to this is as follows:
How can a truthful description of the lifestyle – based on material from RFSL’s own website and research reports – be considered "incitement of violence against a group of people"? If Närkes Allehanda really believed that, they ought to report me to the police since I would violate Swedish law.
However, as you read for yourself the contents of this website, you will notice that it instead creates compassion for these poor people, many of whom come from homes where they have had traumatic childhood experiences. The absence of a father or other male role model or lack of help in developing their masculinity is tragic indeed. However, it’s imperative that parents and grandparents be informed about how they can avoid the same development in their offspring. To withhold such essential information from their subscribers seems to me as the ultimate act of irresponsibility by Mr. Andersson.
One cannot help but wonder how Mr. Andersson would respond if RFSL wanted to advertise their website in Närkes Allehanda. Would Mr. Andersson have denied their ad too. I believe not. Even though they on their website advertise (among a lot of other things) how to use illegal drugs. Consider this: RFSL – an organization that receives generous financial support from the government – recommends on their website how to use illegal drugs. Am I the only one who believes that this madness has gone too far? I don’t believe so based on e-mail response received so far. All of this raises of course the question of the freedom of expression and freedom of speech in our democracy.
